Itinerary
You arrive in Arusha’s Kilimanjaro Airport in the evening. Clearing airport formalities and thereafter Big Expeditions & Safaris representative will meet you at the airport to assist your transfer to tonight’s lodgings near Arusha. Overnight at Planet Lodge
Your African adventure begins as you leave your hotel in Arusha for Ngorongoro Crater via Lake Manyara National Park which guarantees you a wilderness experience in diverse habitats, from its Rift Valley soda lake to dense woodlands and steep mountainsides.The park is famed for its unusual tree-climbing lions and the huge elephant herds it was established to protect. A lake Manyara Safari is quite a fascinating experience for all safari enthusiasts. Drive to Lake Manyara Serena Lodge where you will have a late lunch and thereafter proceed with your journey to Ngorongoro. Dinner and Overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge
Enjoy an early breakfast in lodge, this morning, before you drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend to the floor of Ngorongoro for some game-viewing. Ngorongoro is a caldera that marks the ancient walls of a collapsed volcano. The iconic Ngorongoro crater is a completely enclosed circular crater that is some twelve miles across, with steep walls of over 600 meters. Your accommodation is located at the edge of the crater which at an altitude of approximately 2286 meters above sea level, the highest point on your trip. After your time on the lower plains, the cooler air here is refreshing.
The floor of the crater enjoy a permanent supply of water leading to a precise balance of predator and prey, most of the wildlife found here, remains year-round. The forest areas are home to herds of bull elephant, including some large, old “tuskers.” You will probably encounter several prides of lion, and many packs of hyena and jackal. If lucky, you may also spot a bat-eared fox or a pair of cheetah. These predators stalk the numerous wildebeest, gazelle, and zebra.
A stable population of rhino thrives at the crater, as well as herds of buffalo and groups of hippo. The birdlife at the crater is equally diverse, ranging from the scavenging vulture and bustard to the magnificent eagle and crested crane. In the early afternoon you will return to Arusha and enjoy the opportunity to shop for local crafts before transfer to the airport for our overnight flight to the U.S./Europe via Amsterdam.
After breakfast in the Morning start and drive to Amboseli National Park, check in at your accommodation lodge or camp with afternoon day spent at leisure with an afternoon game drive. Amboseli National Park is situated due south of Nairobi, Most of the park consist of a dry ,ancient lake bed and fragile grassland with patches of acacia woodland, while in the southern area there is a number of small, rocky, volcanic hills. Around the swamps Ol kenya, Ol Tukai and Enkongo Narok, the vegetation is lush with yellow barked acacias and phoenix palms. Dinner and overnight at lodge or camp on Full Board.
