Itinerary

Arrival into Kilimanjaro International Airport , after airport formalities, you will be transferred to your hotel in Arusha for overnight.

After breakfast in your lodge drive to Laker Manyara National Park where you will explore the magical tiny forested Park, with thousands of pink-hued flamingos lining its shore and some 400 species of birds spotted here. Your safari guide will diligently seek out the park's unusual tree-climbing Manyara lions and blue monkeys to round out your photo gallery. Continue on to your beautiful lodge near the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Today you have to prepare yourself fully as you will have the longest day of the challenge as you trek 25km from Nainokanoka down into the Embulbul Depression and then up again to the Empakaai crater rim. You trek across the vast grazing lands of the Maasai livestock, that live side by side with wild African game. Our trek is an incredible opportunity to see African life that on the face of it has been barely touched by modernisation, until the sound of a mobile phone goes off under our Maasai Guides colourful robes. we end the day climbing up the rim of the Empakaai Crater where we finally reach our camp which is based on the lip of the Empakaai crater. Tonight we fall asleep to the sounds of the African night. (28KM TREKKING)

Thismorning we trek into the Empakaai Crater through the forest and to the lake shores. here at the right time of year it is possible to see thousands of pink flamingos. From here we make our way back out of the crater and have an early lunch at camp before we continue on our way to one of the highlights of the challenge, the Maasai village of Enayobi. We should reach here mid afternoon giving us enough time to visit the village school and see a little of how the Maasai live. Tonight we have a bbq of Maasai meats and enjoy a great evening amongst these amazing people. (14KM TREKKING )

Our trek today is all downhill through mostly beautiful Acacia forests that eventually bring us to the base of Lengai volcano. Here, we take in the stunning scenery for before having dinner together and retiring for the night. (16KM TREKKING)

Today is our final day of trekking and we head north to the shores of Lake Natron. En route we are treated to awesome views of Oldoinyo Lengai volcano to the east and of the rift valley up ahead. After some 20km we are greeted by the welcome sight of our support vehicles and the trekking portion of our challenge officially comes to a close. A short transfer then takes us to our accommodation at Lake Natron where we have the opportunity to unwind and rest our weary legs. Tonight we are treated to a feast for dinner, Maasai style! Day 7 :
ARUSHA

After breakfast we start the long transfer from Lake Natron back towards Arusha. We stop for lunch in a traditional village and this afternoon on arrival in to Arusha we have some free time to explore the town. This evening we enjoy our celebration dinner to mark the end of an incredible challenge!

Today transfer to the airport for our flights back home
